Many new beads in my etsy store, how this happened and how you can profit ;-)

As some of you may know I initially started lampworking back in march 2003 because I wanted to make beads to use in my jewelry. Quickly, the jewelrymaking part had to make way more and more for intensive and addictive lampworking... over the years I have accumulated a fairly large amount of beads meant for use in my jewelry but I never got to use them.
Now that I have almost stopped making jewelry except for my rosaries and some pieces for myself, friends and family, I am now ready to let some of these beads go.
For starters, I have put several smaller sets of 6 beads on etsy. I plan to add the focals next week and finally some mixed sets I had put together in preparation for jewelry, maybe some of you have the same taste in jewelry and can use these too.

And if you have read so far, I have a treat for you : until tomorrow(friday) evening, I will offer 20 percent discount in the rosary bead ( 6 bead sets) section of my etsy store here:
I will not publish it on etsy, its just for my blog readers ;-)
simply mention "blog reader treat" while payment checkout and i will refund you through paypal.

New focal beads...a little bit on the dark side ;-)

These are the first pictures, I will make more detailed ones for etsy later, but I was so excited when I opened the kiln that I had to grab my camera right away to show you...
I love all of them but especially the one in the upper left corner. The front side looks like an owl sitting on a branch ( upper picture) and the backside like a giant butterfly ( second picture)!

Round or donut shape? Tell my your preference and win beads ;-)

I always used to make my beads in the regular lampwork shape:
rather donut shaped with nice dimpled ends.
But lately I have been aiming to get them more round in shape.
Of course, in this case the dimpled ends are less pronounced.

Which shape do you prefer?
Tell me our opinion in the comments section and I will draw a random comment who will win a bag of ma beads in the color and shape of her choice ;-)

You can leave comments until July 31, the winner will be drawn on August 1!

A Parade of spacer beads

Yesterday I started taking stringing and taking pictures of my glass jars full of spacer beads...here are the first 3 of them. I also had some pretty banana yellow ones but my camera does not like that color and since I don't have a performing photo program on my new mac, I cannot upload them to etsy. They will have to go into my bag of freebies to give away with bead orders.

I am working in a fall color palette

I don't know why I always reach for the muted colors and soft shades...when it is summer outside and I should be making bright summer beads... these are my latest beads, from last night's session in the studio, freshly cleaned, fotographed and uploaded to etsy.
They are looking for a nice new home where they will be cherished and worked into beautiful jewelry...

Delicious Raku

What a nice surprise when I opened the kiln this morning!
When I made these last nicht, they seemed to be a muddy coloured failure, ready for the bag to be donated to the local preschool.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered this" jeans covered in rust" base, a result of the reaction with the raku frit, which itself made wonderful reactions in light blue, purple, green and brown.
They can be "adopted" here:

And here they are..

..I did not want to keep you waiting, Stephanie ;-)
The six beads on the strand are the turquoise with raku and the other 2 are opal yellow with raku and encased.

2 new frit styles

These are the beads I made yesterday: 2 different kinds of frit beads. Already up on etsy here:

I also tried the second color combination with raku and turquoise in an encased large disk version, but these have not yet been cleaned, so I will be able to show them another day ;-)
